Polyurethane Hygienic Floors

What over ten years of experience in installing various flooring systems for the food and beverage manufacturing sector has taught us, is that the ultimate systems to apply are cementitious Polyurethanes (also known as Polyurethane Concrete). Since 2011 our team have successfully applied over one million square meters of Cementitious Polyurethane Resin flooring systems. Our Floors continue to perform against the test of time, loads, chemicals, moisture and other contaminants.

Duphill offers a variety of Cementitious Polyurethane Resin flooring systems suitable for the most challenging environments. Resisting temperatures from as low as -45 °C to 120 °C + which includes steam cleaning as a common occurrence. This eliminates all other polymer resin flooring systems. Duphill’s flooring systems are all tested to meet the vigorous requirements of ‘Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point’ (HACCP), a globally recognized food safety standard.

What differentiates Duphill’s product offering? Our cementitious Polyurethane flooring systems are tested for Anti-microbial activity and are certified to the ISO 22196:2011 standard. The standard covers most of the common harmful microbes that are associated to the food and beverage sector:

       SARS-CoV        Listeria
       MRSA        C. Difficile
       Proteus vulgaris        E. coli
       Pseudomonas aeruginosa        Streptococcus pyogenes
       Salmonella typhi        Enterococcus faecalis.
       Staphylococcus aureus        Campila Bacta

Cementitious Polyurethane Resin flooring systems are also renowned for withstanding harsh and aggressive chemical conditions. The high level of chemical resistance and outstanding impact properties stem from the high cross-linked formulation of polyurethane resins. This formulation blended with high strength aggregates, which form part of the product mix, enhances the product’s overall chemical resistance.

Chemical attach and subsequent erosion disintegrate alternative flooring systems, such as Epoxy or Methyl Methacrylate resin systems to absolute deterioration. The failure starts with delamination or cracking of the floor’s surface. This leads to Chemicals penetrating through to the substrate. The effects of this will be destructive to the core substrate slab. This is the result of the structural steel reinforcement (rebar) being subject to chemicals and eroding over a period of time.

Duphill’s range of Cementitious Polyurethane Resin flooring systems are tested to provide non-staining and corrosion resistance to the following chemicals. Those chemicals are considered to be the most common in the food and beverage production sector: –

       Hydrochloric Acid         Methanol
       Sulphuric Acid         Sugar Syrups
       Citric Acid         Caustic Soda
       Acetic Acid         Petrol
       Lactic Acid         Oil Ingredients
       Phosphoric Acid        Detergents
